something i wish i had realized earlier: you can write poems on the same subject more than once. you can write, paint, draw the same thing over and over if you want to. you can spend your whole life making art about oranges. i think i always felt this pressure to get it right the first time like i couldn’t go back and use that inspiration again. but you can. you can go back and revisit it. you can pick up the conversation again and again if you have more to say.
I just love that multiple people not only though “the black one is a princess and those are her bodyguards” but also came to the conclusion “they’re also, obviously, samurai.”
It’s an old observation but the secret sauce that makes JJBA work is that a guy can show up with a stand that has the power to sever their opponents’ legs at 100 yards and the protagonists will just cobble together new legs out of bicycle parts and athletic tape and kick the guy’s ass immediately, whereas the guy whose stand power is causing toilets to flush clockwise is an existential threat to all human life and defeating him might take up years’ worth of the manga
